1. Sunday Opening – we will now open on Sunday mornings for roll-ups and advanced coaching which will be by appointment only with Aaron. .
2. Winter leagues – there are still captains not submitted their entry or fees for the 2024/25 winter league -the usual suspects of course. This just adds to the workload of an already busy secretary –
3. £1200 saved by 2 couples taking advantage of the Acle offer to stay at Potters w/c 20th May- that saving will cover the cost of their memberships for s few years.
4. AGM -5th May at 10-30am -have you read the proposals which will be voted on?
5. Federation Finals – a few good performances but no trophies this year for Acle members.
6. Nationals – reminder to enter on line via the EIBA website
NEWSLETTER
15th April 2024
1. Celebration – The ladies A squad celebrated their County Championship win with drinks and cake on Monday evening and also sent a video and message via a very long stretch of wall paper to Fev. Great idea ladies and shows what a great and caring club we are. Another bonus was seeing Geraldine there and able to grasp a gin and tonic again.
The message to Fev read – ‘Hi Fev, just celebrating our win, your contribution helped us through. we are all thinking of you and wish you all the best’.
2. Finals Night – Great night organised by Barney on Sunday and fantastic to see a lot of new faces receiving trophies in the new competitions launched this season. Doubt if many clubs have such an event nowadays and of course the webcams were kept busy and again very few clubs have these facilities for their members.
3. Outdoor - Time to get the thermal gear out - Hope the weather is kind to all you outdoor bowlers.
4. Indoor – The summer leagues are bigger than ever, hence the early start to get them in before we are back for the next winter season.
5. Summer – When sitting under the blazing sun, give a thought to Lilian who will be trying to get a gallon in a pint pot with the number of winter league entries we have and of course slotting in all the county league fixtures.
6. New system – With regard to the above we will be experimenting with a new computer system for the leagues.(Bowlr) One extra feature will please some, in that members will be able, via their phone or tablet (or perhaps pigeon), to access the new system and book rinks themselves. A tablet will also be available in club to use. One warning any provisional booking will automatically be removed after 72hrs if not confirmed.
7. Scoreboards – We will also be installing a new rink scoring system with totaliser and message boards during the summer. Reluctantly, with all these upgrades, Denis will now dispose of his chisel and stone tablet.

NATIONALS 2024/25 – see EIBA website for entry forms and read the club notices regarding any rule changes.
WINTER LEAGUES 2024/25 – have you entered yet?
CLUB AGM – all details are on the main noticeboard.
RINK FEES. Another ‘little’ moan. Please, when you are putting your rink fees in the ‘pot’ and taking change, show someone on the rink. Many times this season the rink fee money has been short but everyone on the rink claims they had put in the right money and taken the correct change.
NEW MEMBERS/LEAGUE CAPTAINS. We have had many new members join the club this season and every season but sometimes we lose them because they cannot get into a team as they get very few games in the week. Please can captains of leagues with minimum squad numbers please consider including these members in their squads as they are not all necessarily new to bowls. Also, new members, please make it known that you are interested in joining domestic leagues/county leagues by entering your name(s) on the lists pinned on the noticeboards.
